The Worfelweel

June 24, 2011

This is a poem I wrote inspired by Lewis Carroll's 'Jabberwocky.' Just as he wrote that poem using loads of made-up words (several of which, I'd like to point out, have come to be actual words found in dictionaries), I set out to write a poem using made-up words.

Amaranth and Pilcrow

June 12, 2011

Another story inspired by words given to me by friends. The words they gave me were: Juvenescent, Incandescent, Narcolepsy, Russian roulette, Amaranth, Libidinous, Vivid, Callipygian, Wynn, Pilcrow, and Patripotestal.

Myf and Idris

May 22, 2011

A short story I wrote a few years ago. I had asked some friend to give me a few words, and I would write a story inspired by them. The words they gave me were eyot (a small island), lagomorph (a rabbit or hare), timbre (the specific sound created by a singer or instrument), and lugubrious (mournful, dismal, or gloomy).
